A
set of 12 text books called ‘Science Out of the Box’ have been
written by Bryan Pennington and published by Macmillan. The books provide
teachers with sets of experiments designed to be used in a standard classroom
where all the students are engaged in the activities. Each book contains
16 experiments with background information as well as sections on assessing
science and how to conduct experiments. The books stress the importance
of the ‘Scientific Method’. The books complement the ‘Science in a Box’® laboratories. The series of books were awarded the Australian Publishers award for Primary Teachers Reference.
