About us

Bryan Pennington, a graduate of Imperial College, London conceived the idea of Primary Science Matters whilst Headmaster of Sydney Grammar School, St Ives Preparatory School, Australia. His background as a professional geologist, secondary school science teacher and primary school Principal has provided him with the knowledge and experience to promote science in primary schools. Primary Science Matters Pty Ltd was created in January 2005.

2005/6 - Primary Science Matters received government funding under the Australian Schools Innovation in Science, Technology and Mathematics (ASISTM) project to develop the Science in a Box ® resources.

2007 - Received government funding from the National Centre for Science, Information Technology, and Mathematics Education in Rural and Regional Australia (SiMERR) to promote science in rural and regional Australia.

2008/9 - Received government funding under the Australian Schools Innovation in Science, Technology and Mathematics (ASISTM) project to promote science in primary schools.

2007/8 - Science Out of the Box textbooks written by Bryan Pennington and published by Macmillan.
150 schools in New South Wales are currently using Primary Science Matters resources.
